Tommy Skeoch shared the responsibility of being a guitar badass in the band Tesla. Tommy was, and still is known for bringing the soul, emotion, and edge to the band.
Tommy relied heavily on a modded 70’s Marshall 2104 2×12 combo to express his soul on tape and to the crowd.
We are humbled to be able to offer Tommy’s signature amplifier – the TS 50.
The TS 50 is the perfect do-it-all amplifier. It is essentially a 50 watt Plexi that exceeds eleven, but with a lot more thump and grind. The low end bridges well with your bass player. It has a nice balanced midrange and high end that is pleasant. We rolled the highs off from a stock Plexi circuit to tame the ear fatigue. The result is the fantastic “chime” you hear in Tommy’s tone, particularly when the guitar volume rolls off.
Overdrive is controlled by (2) preamp gain pots and a PPIMV, giving the artist total control over the preamp gain recipe. No buttons, no relays, just infinite control over the signal and the classic plexi tone circuit.
Happy iso Sunday people. Thought I’d share some raw footage to add some cheer.
Here’s tommy noodling the intro to Edison’s Medicine (badass tune). He’s using pod delay and reverb and his TS50

The Holbrook TS50 is everything I have ever wanted in an amp. It has that tight grit that is dirty and mean, but when rolling back the volume on your guitar it becomes crisp and clean. One of the best features on this amp are the 2 gain pots – essentially 1 is high and 1 is low, which provides me with countless options for dialing in my preferred crunch. So no matter what your style of play is, this amp has you covered.
I also found that because of the responsiveness and articulation this amp brings, it has forced me to become a better guitar player (and song writer). It is a bit hard to describe but, it just feels alive under my fingertips. I have used this amp for both live performances and for recordings, and it turns heads every time.
When buying anything, I look for 2 things – the level of customer service and the quality of the product. The buying experience with Holbrook was great. They were very responsive to all my questions, provided updates on my build, and after having the amp for about a month, even followed up with me to see how the amp was performing – it was awesome and nice personal touch! The quality of the build, components used, being hand-wired, it’s all there and then more. To sum it up, the Holbrook TS50 flat out delivers on many levels. It is an unbelievable modern amp that will get you where you want to go, without the complexity. There is a simple beauty to it, while staying true and rooted to the Plexi DNA – it’s my controlled chaos! Because of this, I’ll be grabbing the TS50 Combo so that I can add some crazy versatility for both rehearsal and live performances.
Ryan Jones – Frequency
I have had the TS-50 for about 4 months now, and I love it. Every time I plug a different guitar into it, I get a whole variety of different colors. I love the two gain stages, which offer the versatility to bring out the natural tone of any guitar. I have been using a ’74 strat, a new strat, a ’78 Les Paul Custom, an ’89 Les Paul Standard, a brand new SG and even an Ibanez 7-string Universe, and it really does some incredible things. It has this really fully-loaded, electric, crispy, vintage sound that’ll put the goosebumps on you. Is it possible to be dirty and clean at the same time? You really gotta’ try this one on.
